Estimating
We provide signal cost estimates for use in acquiring the funding for capital improvement projects and projects funded by state and federal agencies, regardless of the size of the project. Our estimates take into consideration Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations and, when applicable, the requirements set forth by the local and state agencies, as well as the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
Materials Requisitioning
Southwest is capable of providing detailed, site-specific Bill of Material (BOM) to facilitate the delivery of material to the appropriate locations. The BOM will consist of all ground materials, cabling, signals and appurtenances, lightning protection, and any other materials required for completion of the project. We list only materials specified and authorized by the client.
CADD/Drafting
We provide Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD), as well as manual drafting, for design projects to ensure the utmost quality. Our workstations are equipped with Bentley MicroStation and Autodesk AutoCAD products. Manual drawings can be converted to electronic format by redrawing or scanning. In addition, we can integrate a scanned plan (raster file) with a customer specific vector file to create a hybrid CADD file. This gives our customers the ability to eliminate velum, mylar, and cloth tracings by converting them to CADD files.
Reprographics
We have our own in-house reprographics center that allows us to provide our customers the highest quality plan reproduction and scanning services in the industry. Through the use of imaging software, we can render a scanned image that is often more legible than the original document.
